Orange County has access to The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division’s 100-square mile campus is nestled into the rolling hills of the South Central Indiana Region. It’s impact on the Region is far-reaching, as research and discovery from NSWC Crane - considered by many to be on par with the most prestigious private research facilities in the world - is harnessed by enterprising companies of all sizes for commercial gain.
To facilitate and accelerate the transfer of technology in Orange County, NSWC Crane provides a powerful, opportunity-laden Technology Transfer Program. Because NSWC Crane wants to help strengthen the economic fabric of Orange County, its Technology Engagement Office provides local businesses with:
- No-cost patent licensing-Regional businesses can license NSWC Crane patents without charge and use them to create commercial products.
- At-cost technical assistance-Regional businesses can access Crane’s technical expertise, testing facilities, manufacturing equipment and research assistance.
- Ready access to defense and commercial markets-Regional businesses can sell successful products/services to NSWC Crane and to the general marketplace.
