The $2 billion Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division is one of the fastest-growing Federal research and development laboratories in the United States. NSWC Crane employs nearly 3,000 people directly, nearly all of whom are civilians, and employs many thousands more indirectly. The greatest proportion of government employees - nearly 75% - are professional and technical staff, including scientists, researchers, and engineers.
